Twelve grapes for good luck and Inca Kola. . . Happy New Year from Peru!

Twelve grapes for good luck and Inca Kola. . . Happy New Year from Peru!

Last night we had dinner hear at the hotel.  The missionaries from Peru Mission came and talked to us about what the Lord is doing through them here in Northern Peru.  It is exciting to see his work!  After dinner we went to Larco Church to bring in the New Year with the Peruvians.  We opened with prayer and then sang songs and played games.  It was a joy to celebrate with them and learn some more of thier songs and games and I think they enjoyed the same.  Someone from each group shared thier testimnoy with us and a Larco church member shared a short message to remind us to stay focused on God and remember that anything we accomplish in 2008 will be through God and not of our own power.  Through him all things are possible.  Then we greeted the new year with sparklers and firecrackers.  The pastor hosted us at his home afterwards where we enjoyed hot chocolate, Inka Cola, grapes, a type of fruitcake, chicken, and other treats.  Since today is the first day of camp, we had to call it an early night and we left at 12:30.  We got back to the hotel around 1 am and today we leave at 8:00, in about 15 minutes!  We are all so excited to start camp today!!

Praise for Carrie Kimball´s luggage finally arriving last night around 10 pm.  Carey Black´s is supposed to be here tonight.  Please pray that it makes it!!  Continue to pray for those with colds and coughs.  Most are feeling better, but we desire full healing.  Pray for the children as we begin to minister to them today and that God will use this camp to change lives.

Happy New Year!! to you all and may God use this, the first day of 2008, to be glorified all over this planet & especially in a little Twin Lakes Summer Camp in Peru. What a way to charge into the New Year....serving Jesus, loving the little children, praising God into the night and ushering in the New Year by fellowshipping with like-minded believers!!
Tell my John Israel that I love him. I am praying for you all.

Tell Carey that if she does not get her luggage tonight to look on the bright side....at least there will be less laundry to do when she returns home. Ha Ha
