Following the road to the sea, I stopped to capture this panorama of Kohala mountain and the rolling hills during sunset.

At a place I like to call turtle beach, a green sea turtle comes up for air. This is one of the many turtles using this area to munch on algae close to shore. Most of the time they are seen hauled out onto the sand to rest. Through out the year these animals can be observed here; a common sight for locals and tourists alike.

The lava is flowing down from what looks to be a dragon's mouth. Steam rises from the molten lava as it hits the oncoming waves. Moments later, a large piece brakes off and changes the path of the flowing lava.
