Living Aloha Exploring the Big Island of Hawaii

About agirlandhercamera

At a place I like to call turtle beach, a green sea turtle comes up for air. This is one of the many turtles using this area to munch on algae close to shore. Most of the time they are seen hauled out onto the sand to rest. Through out the year these animals can be observed here; a common sight for locals and tourists alike.

I am a Jersey girl with Florida roots who fell in love with the ocean soon after birth. In high school I developed an interest in photography. Combining these two passions, I landed an internship in Hawaii working with an underwater production company. After a year in the aloha state, I needed to see more of the world. I traveled to Roatan, Honduras where I became a Divemaster. Now, I am in Costa Rica where I plan on becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor. Before embarking on my travels I purchased an ikelite underwater housing for my Nikon D7000. I want to spend as much time as possible under the waves filming aquatic life where ever I go.
