Sibling caregiver's traditionally been assigned to girls,but more boys're taking on the role.This shift in task distribution's new positive phenomenon.It's role helping boys build children and family understanding,and become better father and family head.In the photo,9-year old James's taking care of his sister Grace,one of 7 siblings.They live with their sick mother unable to do household tasks.James assumes the role of a caregiver and head.All this at the expense of his 'normal' childhood...

10-year old Denis,the elder brother of Hope and Faith,acts as the household head.This role is often left to boys in families where both parents've died or where children've been left by a parent who's only job chance takes him/her to a remote town.Denis also shares the role of a caregiver to their small sister.Having full-time family responsibilities combined with lack of financial means often prevents these children from getting education and impacts their health and future life prospects.

Innocent,8-years old'is caregiver to her younger brother Charles.She, likeher peers,does her best though overwhelmed trying to perfom well in her adult role.Regardless of the burden,these young caregivers never complain or refuse.They take their job seriously and look after their little charges responsibly and lovingly.
