Madeira is home for one of the poorest regions in all Europe. In this paradise there are neighbourhoods where police forces don't dare to go in.
An ironic situation. Madeira as a Gross domestic product per capita of 103% of the European average. It is s reported to be the second richest region of Portugal, right after the Portugese capital, and yet manages to have such poverty.
