Madeira is very famous for its toboggan sledges. These basket rides are a old mean of quick transportation from the tops to Funchal. Today it is only touristic, but it still taks people at a bold 50km/h through the narrow mountainy roads to the capital center.

Madeira is a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, near Marrocos. With 801 square kilometers and a population of 270 hundred thousand, it is an autonomous region very famous for its wine, landscape, nature, culture, and of course the annual New Year celebrations and it's Guiness World Record largest fireworks show.

This is a functional replica of Santa Maria, the main ship used by Columbus in is first voyage. Contrary to common sense, these type of ships weren't meant for exploration, they were simply second-hand merchant ships. Santa Maria was used for wine exportation, currently it is a touristic attraction representing the wine expo industry that has greatly contributed for Madeira's reputation.
