Secondhand Smoking in China

CHINA | Tuesday, 23 September 2014 | Views [532]

If I don't come out of China with lung cancer it might be a miracle. I cannot express how much Chinese people smoke.... Everywhere. And no one cares about no smoking signs, those are just stickers. I don't think Canada was ever this bad.

And now for my real update. I managed to get a cheaper ticket to Xi'An that if I hadn't had help from the manager at the hostel. Because I don't have a Chinese bank and PayPal was not an option he paid for me! I paid him back in cash of course. I also had a good night trying BBQ with my Chinese roommate Qin. She translated the menue for me and I chose: chicken hearts, duck tongue, and good old beef (I recieved sheep instead). I like chicken hearts.... I couldn't really enjoy the duck tongue lol. It was too weird. I also forgot to mention that I joined the zombie ranks last week at hot pot because I ate pig brains! It is so mushy... There is no comparison.

Anyways, a trip isn't complete without running to your plane at least once! I was late but not the last one on board. Also.... Do not put your hand sanitizer with your passport while flying! Don't worry! Even though I knew the little bottle had a flimsy closure I thought it was fine like it has been so far. While rushing to my seat I put my passport in a different pocket than usual. Sooo basically the alcohol warped some pages and drenched the immigrations departure slip that I need (you know, like in the movie Argo). But all is dry and still usable! I was barely worried....... A bit.

So far though, Xi'An has more foreigners I can see on the street, it's beautiful, and I'm starving. No more duck tongue...
