Brandon's parents, brother Dustin, and Dick helped us move our furniture out of the apartment and into Dustin's spare room for storage Monday night. It was about 9 degrees outside as we loaded and unloaded the Budget truck. We were so incredibly greatful for all the help! Thank you!
The apartment is starting to look bare. The mover/appraiser that came yesterday asked if we were practicing living in Japan, as we still had a large screen TV, but no couch or chairs in the living room. hehehe
Brandon's work had a wonderful farewell luncheon for him yesterday! I was sooooo proud!!! They presented him with a wall hanging with a photo of his building, their well wishes and signatures of co-workers, two patches related to his work, and an engraved plaque with his name and years of service. It was such a wonderful gift and we can't wait to hang it on our wall in Japan! Again, I was soooo proud of him!!!
We picked my dad up at the airport late last night and we're looking forward to spending a few days with him before we fly out. Today the Expedited movers are here. Tomorrow will be the Household Goods movers. Or as Brandon has termed them, the "Slow" and "Slower" shippers.
It's still chaotic here, but we're starting to feel like we're actually moving soon! Both of us are exhausted, but we're wondering if that might actually be helpful with the 15 hour time difference when we get there. hehehe Wish us luck! :)
