I used to roam free. But now I rest here content in my surroundings. Home to mosses and lichens, kangaroo remains and bullet holes, I am a new eco-system and indelibly part of this place.

The green and gold of olden times.
Miles away from the nearest road, a dirt track from Nimmitabel gradually disappears into nothing and leads us here. Our home for Christmas, if only it could be forever.
I look at this vista and reminisce about the Australia before my time, the Australia in books of old. The colours of the past, here in the present.
