Ton Sai, Krabi

Hey guys,

I cant access my world nomads page today so I thought i'd just send a bulk email while i'm in the mood for writing and post it later. I should mention that as I sit here writing in Krabi a procession of people banging drums with swords jammed through their cheeks are walking by letting off firecrackers for the vegetarian festival.  So I will try my best to focus and remember the goings on of the last week.  We met Luke in Phuket town a week ago.  The bus from the airport was making some pretty horrid noises and then eventually broke down, so we were over an hour late to meet.  We had a cold shower and went out for drinks and dinner.  We got back to the guest house at about 1am after watching the best covers band I have ever seen... I usually avoid covers bands like the plague.  In total dinner and about 9 drinks each cost us less than 15 dollars each.  On the way into the room I was filming the boys struggling with the lock on the room door when i heard a splat behind me.  We were perhaps louder than I had realised as someone had thrown their left overs off the balcony at us.  The next day we stayed in Ao Nang.  We all shared a sweat box for about 5 dollars a night and after not much sleep, the next day we jumped in the back of a ute and then a longtail boat for Ton Sai.  Luke couldnt stop talking about monkeys and after about 2 hours of arriving (in the pouring rain) we were inundated with them much to his amazement.  Its been a relaxing week of eating, sleeping, reading, swimming, kayaking and partying.  Luke won a free beer by climbing "the tree", which was a rather tall and slanted coconut tree.  Last night to say goodbye to some new friends we smoked a burmese cigar which would flame at the end when you sucked it too hard.  One of the guys lit his pants on fire.  Thankfully we were right on the beach so we all just dived into the water for a midnight swim.

We took a private longtail boat out for the day and snorkelled around some of the islands.  Despite sunscreen we are all burnt on the shoulders and carrying our packs out of Ton Sai today was quite painful.  Luke is a bit sick today.  He got drunk last night and drank the local water and now he has to take his antibiotics.  But of course he is still eating Thailand out of food.  The boys have been eating first lunch, second lunch and first and second dinner every day.  It is pretty hard to keep up.  I get so full from first and second lunch that i have to settle for cocunut shakes for dinner.  It sounds tough doesn't it!  We leave for Chang Mai tomorrow morning.  Will try to post some photos on the site another time.

I know my mum is going to be reading this tutting my terrible spelling-sorry mum!
bye for now
xo love
