Maria & Brett's HUGE Trip 06-07-08-09-?

ok, so the Socceroos lost in 'that' penalty against Italy; Adriatic summers aren't long enough (bliss!); and we found that you should never use the term "Eastern Bloc" when talking to a Czech (Central Europe, please).

Munich

Nymphenburg Schloss in Munich. The grandiose siye and lavishness of the surrounding fields and parks... beyond description. Luckily we'd strolled around the 698kms of gorgeous parklands before this storm came over and confined us to a relaxing arvo indoors.

'Kicker' comnpetition for charity (table soccer, or 'Foosball') in Munich. It was hosted by a football-mad optometrist who turned his shop into a smoke-filled bar for the round robin evening. Our new friend, Franzi, was playing in the blue team, but unfortunately couldn't knock out the ever so serious competition.

Nymphenburg Schloss - the back yard! Hate to mow this lawn eh... Or weed the gravel... or clean the lake. What is it with Royal fascination with huge things to display their wealth, when they would probably lose all of it just to build something like this (Recall the building of Palace of Versailles which nearly sent France broke...)
