Arielle at Yogurtland!

Arielle at Yogurtland!

Saturday, Brandon took me out for lunch at the Ramen shop in American Village.  I had some very good Okinawan fried rice and Brandon had beef ramen.  The ramen here is a far cry from the stove-top ramen Americans are used to...come to think of it, we should probably take photos next time.  So stay tuned for a ramen story in the near future.  Anyway, we did some shopping at the nearby 100-Yen store and wandered through a couple other stores before stopping at the newest addition to American Village for dessert: Yogurtland!

Yogurtland! was started in L.A. and this is the first one to open in Japan.  Hopefully, it won't be the last.  I instantly fell in love with the self-service frozen yogurt, as not only could I choose what flavor I wanted, I could also decide how much I wanted.  No pesky "small" that I can't finish no matter how hungry I think I am.  I digress.  I had toasted coconut frozen yogurt that reminded me so much of the outstanding Gelato we had in Italy.  So rich in flavor, so delicious!  Next came the fresh fruit topping bar.  Folks, fresh tropical fruit is definitely a wonderful perk to living on a subtropical island.  I love it!  And last came the other "condiments" bar including mochi balls (made from rice flour) and all sorts of cookies.  Everything was so wonderful!

Later in the evening, Brandon took me to see Transformers 2.  We both enjoyed the action-packed movie, and being so close to Yogurtland!, we decided to slip back in for a quick treat before heading home.  Two oh-so-delicious frozen yogurts, a good movie, and a happy day with my wonderful husband.  Who could ask for more?!
