7 weeks to go!

Hi All,

I know that it's been a while since my last installment but life here is SOOOOO busy and it's really hard to try to put camp into words. We're just at the end of week 2 of campers so 7 weeks to go. Time is flying by I think mainly cos it's so much fun!

I have had two groups of kids so far. The first week was 9-10 year old boys and girls who were a great bunch but this week we've had 12-14 year old girls who were amazing! We basically take them for 3 sessions a day (6.5hrs in total) of all sorts of different sports - dream job! I've learnt a lot of new things like mountain biking, trapezing, rock climbing and even american football and am trying to teach them a few things too like netty and touch... There are also themes each week and as today is the 4th of July, we've had a stars and stripes theme and last week was a circus theme - basically means that we get to paint our faces and dress up in silly clothes all day every day to try to make it more fun for the kids

I'm living in a cabin with 15 other girls which has been suprisingly easy so far... We all get along so well and it really doesn't feel like we've only known each other for only a month.

I'll attach a few photos that the camp photographer has taken as Im still trying to sort out my camera etc so that I can put up some of my own...

Hope everyone is well... Will write again soon!

Can't believe we missed all these blogs but lovely to catch up on all your 'doings" now and busting for you to come home. have spent the last month or so trying to get some order in this place but just covering the basics like answering the emails, booking in jobs, following up with hire equipment, keeping the coolrooms stocked at nepean hall etc. Had a little flight of fancy where we tendered for the uni cafe but I think we did such a good job legitimising why we shouldn't pay rent for the first 6 weeks that they must have thought our heart wasn't really in it so they gave it to someone who is running the syd uni cafes in town. Bummer... except that in typical uni fashion the coffee machine is broken and still not fixed after 3 months and by the time anyone gets in there the symester will be 3/4 over.

Anyway, lots has happened in the meantime and we are looking like having the most wonderful new premises by the end of December, so all is not lost. Too long a story to go into now...will keep you in suspense!!

Shame Mark couldn't get it together with you in NY but here you've had a good time and by the looks of the last email from Jim and Twink... you were a hit in the retirement village. Go Zo!!

Got a couple of new chefs in the kitchen so have been able to spend more time out of it, but think this is the last week of freedom. Have most w/ends double booked with catering as well as the Hall which means I'm down a chef for prepping on the Fridays - have to try to get the Mon/Tues/Wed chef to come in and prep catering on Thursday/Friday as well. Hopefully will have it all sorted by the time you get home.

looking forward to having Beetles 21st out here early january. Jock saw him for brekky but I didn't catch up while he was "in state". Jock has applied for a job running the sport events in the Sydney domain - planning the rosters, coaches, advertising etc and I think starts in a week or so. he is really loving his course at manly. Frey has moved out of Taryn's flat and into a flat in newtown with two "nice Jewish boys" one of whom shares the same birthday as her, so they are planning a "whooarr' of a party out here on the 2/3rd october - write it in your diary"

Better get on with some work. Enjoy your last weeks of freedom.

Lots of love,

Poss &( Mark)

Forgot to say Polly has just transferred to Bathurst with Flight centre and thrilled to be out of town again and Christie has gone back to wollongong with Ben and just tripping to syd uni for lectures a couple of days a week. Your Dad was out here gliding a couple of weeks ago and flew over us!
