My Scholarship entry - Overland to Africa

Over the past 5 years I have traveled to and photographed 45 countries. Travel photography has become my obsession. My journey began with a childhood trip to Costa Rica and, with each new country I visit, my passion continues to grow. I have financed my photographic journeys through teaching ESL around the world and making sacrifices where necessary in order to follow my dreams. I have dreamed of being a professional travel photographer even before I owned my first camera. The opportunity to learn from a pro would be the biggest thing to happen to my travel photography career in a long time. Through diligent studying of techniques and relentless practicing around the world, I have honed my photographic skills. I feel that I am now ready to take the next big step in the travel photography world and that this opportunity could definitely push me in the right direction.
