Gili Air, Indonesia is lovely - no motorised transport apart from the boats; its a bicycle, Shank's pony or pony and cart for getting around so gradually you realise what's missing - noise! Despite the devotion to Bob Marley from various sea front bars/restaurants Gili Air is still a quite resort so best avoided if you are looking for that full moon party scene. Most places are individually owned, serve lovely food following mum's home recipes, and will help you out with travel or day trip arrangements - WiWin was great, with Indonesian dishes as well as a good curry range; Coconut Bungalows a fantastic place to stay; one or two places, however, are bigger, chain type affairs and lack that individuality of care, Scallywags being about show not substance thus pretty over rated - my beetroot, walnut salad had neither!
