The soppy git that I am, I felt tears well up as I patted the crated up Xavier on his bars and thanked him for looking after me so well, and wished him bon voyage.
I rearranged the 6 inch Yoshi plush (given to me by Kellan and Amaris for this very purpose) that has been with me every day (sitting in the recess between the speedometer and windscreen) and placed him sat squarley on Xavier's bars and beeped him on the nose like I have done a hundred silly times over the last 3 months.
The lid was placed on the crate, strapped down, and then the whole crate was wrapped in clingfilm top to bottom and shipping labels affixed.
A forklift came and picked up part of my life, and carried them out of sight for their own adventure.
