A group of old men take a smoke break behind the kitchen where they work. Every aspect of life happens in the streets of Xi'an.

For more than 3,000 years Xi'an has been a hub of Chinese civilization. Today, the streets in the city's Muslim Quarter come alive at night with vendors and the smell of fried foods like pig feet.

Thick steam and the smell of delicious frying meat hangs heavy in the air. Every alleyway is a journey for the senses.
