One Wilde Woman's adventures

Mannheim

NEW ZEALAND | Sunday, 27 March 2011 | Views [397]

I am loving Germany again. I have sampled lots of the typical german cuisine (especially different types of Wurste) and German beer.

Its definitely Spring time are there are gorgeous spring flowers everywhere (especially daffodils) and the lovely almond trees are in full blossom. Yesterday the weather was cooler (about 15 celcius) but the day before was 20 degrees.

We went to an very old typical German town (Lebenberg) yesterday and ate Spaghetti Eis which was invented in Mannheim. It was delicious - no wonder Claire raved about it. Its a yummy vanilla icecream squeezed through a machine to make it look like spaghetti, then its covered in real strawberry sauce (looks like tomato salsa sauce) and then has yellow coconut sprinkled over the top which is supposed to be the Parmesan cheese. Delicimosa!!! A little bit of Italy in Germany.
