My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am in equal measures; infatuated and disenchanted, satisfied and frustrated, empowered and diminished by the process of making the images that I want to make. This has been especially true in the past 12 months as I have been travelling. I have no plan, just a list of things to see. I loved almost every minute of it - the scenery; the old buildings; the smiles and generosity of people; the heat, the smells, the noise, the sweaty climbs up hills and even the long and dirty rides on motorbikes, buses and the back of trucks.
As I travelled and experienced new things and met interesting new people my list of things to do grew to a point where I have to make a decision on what to do next. I have seen some wonderful, amazing sights but I have also seen hunger, poverty, sadness and mans need to destroy his own environment.
I want to be able to use the skills I have to tell the stories of those less fortunate, those who live where the impact of change is felt the most.
With the skills and experience I would develop with this scholarship I will have a renewed confidence to take advantage of the opportunity of time and get out there and tell the stories that are waiting to be told.
