It's less than a month til we leave, and we are busy with preparations. The kids are, shall we say, less than excited about the trip. It's understandable given they are thinking about leaving their best friends, a school they love, skateboarding, favorite toys and the familiar. Joel and I, on the otherhand, both break into smiles when we even think about what possibly lay ahead. Our plan to travel with carryon size luggage looks like it will be tested by the sheer number of books we each want to bring on the trip! I'm sure we will find a way. Who needs clothes or shoes, afterall?
I speak for us both when I say we feel so grateful to Crane for giving us the opportunity to be together as a family on what promises to be an incredible adventure. Thanks to the Board for granting Joel the sabbatical and to all the faculty and staff who are filling in and helping out to allow this to happen! We will miss you -- Mary Anne
