The Golden Road to Samarkand We are the Pilgrims, master; we shall go Always a little further: it may be beyond the last blue mountain barred with snow Across that angry or that glimmering sea. Surely we are brave who take the Golden Road to Samarkand. - Hassan by James E. Flecker

"Deafening Silence" This was taken in the mangroves of the Hunter River. We stopped our zodiak and just floated in silence listening to nature go about its business. I wanted to capture the mirror image of the landscape in the water to show how still and isolated it can get out there with no one else around for literally hundreds of kilometers.
