WE WEREN’T ALL THAT CONFIDENT ABOUT GETTING BACK to Bishkek again. The temperature in Tashkent plummeted to -5C and snow was forecast for the region. There are only three flights a week to Bishkek and if we missed this one it would be a minor disaster. We landed just before midnight in heavy snow and the taxi ride to our beloved Ambassador Hotel was a real white-knuckler. We have seen more snow in Kyrgyzstan than anywhere since Antarctica. Our room was ready, the heat was on and our bed was sprinkled with rose petals. Nice touch.
Ambassador Hotel, highly recommended
We can’t say enough about the folks at the Bishkek office of Advantour. The Uzbekistan trip they booked for us was as smooth as silk. When we stopped back for plane tickets to Dushanbe, the next few weeks was still up in the air. By the time we left we had our letter of invitation to Turkmenistan, plane tickets and even our hotel reservations. Except for a few days on our own in Tajikistan we are booked until April 20.
