Have another look into the picture gallery for Northern Laos. I added a pick of the plane I took! Unfortunatly I managedto delete a closer up, but just compare the size of people to the size of the plane!
I'm glad it's done. And I forsure are not going totake another domestic plane. On the other hand everything worked just fine.. This bus-rides are not wuiet safe either, it seems from time to time..
I stayed 2 more days in Vientianne, waiting for Camilla, who herself was waiting for her luggage in Bangkok.
I finally gave, had kind of seen almost everything there is to see in and around town..
lots of police around the last day. SEA-games coming up and Vientianne wants to show how safe, clean and nice it is :)
I then went to Vang Vieng. Everybody (and I reallymean EVERY SINGLE PERSON I talked to about it) said I should skip the town. Too many tourists, too many drugs, too many tv-screens showing "Friends".
I went anyway. And loved it! It's such a nice place, tiny town at the river, spectacular mountains with thousands of caves all around it and only half-an-hour-walk to get away from all the tourist-places.
Due to some misunderstanding I had to leave the ay after to meet Camilla in Luang Prabang. Otherwise I would have stayed at least 2 more days..
Luang Prabang is much more touristic than I thought, but very nice to just hang around, see some waterfalls, many many temples and 2 rivers that surround town.
Good food too :)
After I met Camilla, we explored town & cycled to a waterfall & Camilla went ill & I spend a day on my own & the day after we went for a trip to another waterfall close to an "elephant village". That was pretty touristic, but cool. We rode on an elephant throegh the jungle and I even got a chance to sit on the elephants neck while he was going to take his bath. A bit scary, but mostly cool :)
Tomorrow we're off north with a boat.
Nice!
