My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Philippines | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

As early as about eight years old, my love affair with photography began. Though I can't call it passion back then because for me it was just a child's play. Flash forward to this date, I'm already 26 years old. I got myself a SLR camera and that rekindle my love for taking photos. Street and landscape photography never fails to fascinate me. Yes they may look simple but nothing is what it seems. It has always been a struggle for me to do street photography as I'm an introvert. As the years passed by, I thirst far more than just snapping shots, I opt to take photos that tell stories, not just a feast for the eyes but deeper than that, a vision.
I've always wanted to learn documentary photography. As I came across this ad in Facebook, I was very much eager to know the details. Here I am now, submitting my application. If given this opportunity, it will be a life changing experience. There's no greater sense of fulfillment for an amateur such as me, to travel and learn from a pro photographer like Jason Edward. That would be like achieving my ultimate dream. Bagging this scholarship, it will be like having a slice of that dream or even the whole piece of it.
The following photos are taken from my father's hometown Alegria, Surigao Del Norte (Philippines).
