Tawharanui - A conservation story

Sand dunes and their grasses provide cover for the NZ Dotterel where they breed and nest.  Dunes are in decline in NZ due to development and invasive species.  Dunes in Tawharanui are cordoned off for the protection of the dunes and the dotterel.
