My AW! sum India

INDIA | Friday, 9 May 2014 | Views [140] | Scholarship Entry

India is diverse as it has been said on many a travel website / blogs.
I am from India and live and breathe the not so clean air daily. Part of me probably suffers from a million diseases that we breed :), but drink that "unclean Holy water from the Ganga " and you're supposed to be cleansed !...nah! you'd probably die of a disease alien to man. Don't try it!.
Having stated the above, the culture in India is to do with religion, & is the epitome of any household. We have over 400 languages / dialects and i think about 2000 odd gods. We've left no stone unturned (in the literal sense)..we turn the stone, make sure a miracle happens, and then pray to it ;).
Scale the country from North to south or East to West and I bet you would never find it the same, whether it be in scenery / or regional culture. The only fact is that as Indians we are hypocritical in nature as any other race. We claim to be a 'United People' but infact we're the most divided LOT. Our cast and creed and color define where we stand on the pyramid of acceptance. Yet! put an Indian on the moon and he will only look for another Indian...even if there were a million Russians / Americans there ;).

I do love my country and all it's eccentricities, that's what makes us stand out against the Chinese (besides not many of us are oriental looking), :).
The food that has made it's mark on the globe from "chicken Tikka" to " Tandoori Chicken " or Hot Curries, we set the trend, and then sell it ;). We're born entrepreneurs ;)
India as a whole is a country that makes every Non-indian either go " OMG! " in a good way ....Or " EEWW! in a not so good way".

The mountains in the north, house the Himalayan range and some of the most humble people in India. In the south you have some of the most intelligent people and some of the richest people in the world (who don't pay taxes???) ;). From the west you have the dessert like weather with a culture that is so vibrant and rich and arty.

As a race we're dramatic people, we cry for the dead even if they are not related, we dance at a wedding even if we don't know the couple getting married. Celebration is and ever ready activity. Hospitality is priority in any Indian household and feeding people is of the essence.

If i were to describe INDIA in a few words: Ever changing, wonderful, scenic, chaotic and a MIX of all that's good for the mind, body & soul. Visit India and I'm sure you'll be smiling, coz' You'd know is was telling the TRUTH :) ;)
