4 Days in Malta !

MALTA | Monday, 8 June 2015 | Views [452]

Malta is a lovely island which can be done in four days !

There is lot of things to do or to see but it is all in the same place. So to help you this is my itinerary when I went to Malta ;)

I did the island of Malta (except the south) and Gozo (the second island).

DAY 1

Arrival at the airport, I suggest you take the taxi because it is cheap (15€) and it is more easy than the shuttle. The shuttle only leave when it is full ; so you can wait for hours ! After my check-in at the hotel in sliema, I took the ferry to go in La Valette (capital of malta) because the view is very nice and more rapid than the bus.

To visit La Valette I suggest you do a guide tou in a horse-drawn carriage it is very funny and typical ! However you cannot do all the city because there is a part which is pedestrian. It is small so you can visit all the center. There are lot of beautiful church to see like Carmelite church and cathedral of st Jean (But becareful it close early!) You have to see the gardens of Upper Barraca and the St Elme Fort

DAY 2

Direction to Mdina a lovely city surroundings of fortifications. The place is so pale and light (the rock is white). you have a great museum and a breath-taking church (as you can see on the picture) and the inside is so sumptuous (there is no picture, it is the surprise!) Outside Mdina there is Rabat with its lovely street (see the second picture). Then you have cliff of Dingli which is perfect to take very nice picture ! (Picture n°3) But BECAREFUL there is one bus every two hours !! I had to do hitch-hiking because it was the only way to reach a city

In Mdina I found a nice and tiny snack with local food ! It was delicious ! It was a pastry of peas or cheese. It is weird but good xD

DAY 3

Gozo is the second island of Malta which can be done in one day. I suggest you take the taxi to do an island tour because it is the same price than the touristic bus and it is more nice and enjoyable than the bus with everybody. You can go where you want and the taxi had good tips to eat and the activities to do ! For example when I went Gozo to see the Azure window (picture N°1), he said to me to see the Azur Window by small boat and I am not disapointed ! It is another way to see this beautiful and natural monument (15minutes four 4€). Because of him we eat an succulent fish in the harbor of Masalforn.

in Gozo you have lot of monument and landscape to see but do not worry with the taxi you can see all. You have to see Ta Pinu's Church (Picture N°1) and Quala point (Picture 2) but for this place you have to tell to the taximan.

The third picture is typical and lovely boat ! very cute :)

DAY 4

Return to La valette by the east cost.

To conclude I adore Malta for its history, its landscape, its monuments and its change of scene into the Mediteranean sea !

TIPS:

- Take taxi no buses (cheap and more practical)

- I suugest book the Antonine Maritim hotel & spa which is just splendid and very cosy (it is in Melieha)

- March is pleasant for the weather but if you want to take a bathe it is in April/May

ENJOY YOUR TRIP !
