Back in Argentina and it feels so good! So after 36 hours of travel, 2 night buses and a border crossing I arrived back to my favorite spot, Salta. Once again, I met some good people and just spent the days relaxing happily. The first night I went out for dinner with a Swiss girl and two Argentinian guys who were brothers, from Buenos Aires. The communication between the four of us was pretty hilarious. The Swiss girl and I would speak in English to each other and broken Spanish to the guys, one guy would speak broken English with us and the other only spoke Spanish, and with each other only Spanish. After a few glasses of wine & beer we were all laughing (maybe not at the same thing?) and having a great time! The next day I went out for a stroll with a French girl, then watched a futbol (or "soccer") match with some Argentinians, between two teams from Buenos Aires. My last night there, it was a girl's birthday so the entire hostel got together to celebrate. Then the guy running the hostel played his guitar and one of his friends sang for her. They were so good...I was enchanted. Hehe And then one of the Argentinian guys from the first night joined in on the drums. After a while, a bunch of us went out to a club to dance the night away. I was fortunate to get spun around in circles by an Argentinian, who turned out to be the owner of the hostel, as he tried to teach me to dance like a Latina! It was super fun although I can't say that I passed...
Next stop, Rosario, after yet another night bus! I've been here for 3 days, although the first one didn't really count because I was so exhausted from my night bus that I mostlty slept the entire day away! However, yesterday and today I made up for it by wandering around near the river and checking out Che Guevara's birthplace, and just all out enjoying this very laid back, less touristy city. This is one of the few cities I've been to so far where I really felt very relaxed walking around. The hostel has also been good and I've met some really nice people here as well. It's been a great stop along the way, and who knows, maybe I'll be back. But tomorrow I leave on yet another night bus, to Uruguay, to be reunited with Jen.
