End of Season Party Time

It is with great sadness that I report the ski season is over- very abruptly. There was a nice dump of snow, then the sun came up and cleared it all away in less than a week. Now there are deer and squirrels around, lots of very green trees and fast-flowing water and tan-worthy sun. My last few weeks of work were the most hectic of the season, starting with seven boys between the ages of 7 weeks and 8 years- that was three weeks ago. Then two weeks ago I had a pretty difficult family who fired the other nanny within half an hour of meeting the poor lass. The child was a rather difficult 3 year old, and there were two more kids other than her- they were lovely though. Then last week, I was looking after 5 children between the ages of 12 months and 2.5 years- but I had some help there! Having said that, it has also been the best three weeks of the season. I've had so many fantastic, crazy, hilarious, fun nights with the crew lately. The last guests left on Sunday, and of course, that meant party time in Meribel. We had an enormous pool party in the chalet pool as soon as guests left, starting at 10:30am and... well I left at 7:15 the next morning. The weather is amazing around here, and the sun is not like Australian sun, I stayed outside all day and got just slightly brown. Normally I'm a beetroot in 10 minutes. Everyone is now in clean up mode, closing down the chalets, while I'm waiting to hear back from my manager to tell me when I'm allowed to leave. Now there's no more snow, I'm keen to get to Lyon to see Maya and go traveling around Italy until mid May.
