T2C--Refreshing River Play

GUATEMALA | Sunday, 5 April 2009 | Views [364] | Comments [1]

After a hot hike to see Volcán Santiaquito we stop at this spot along the river to refresh ourselves in the warm river waters from the volcanos where the locals swim (and extranjeros such as ourselves). Our group hit it off with al the kids and began splashing, playing water ball and clinging to our backs for submarine.

Train-to-Climbers: I used my Polar watch to calculate my calorie usage for the 30 hr period of the hike from the QT offices to this rest stop. Total calories for the hike was 9000. No wonder we enjoyed our lunch of fresh fruit and sandwiches at this place last stop.
