Arrived at the Sydney Marriott with strong feelings that we had stayed there before. The rooftop pool was closed for renovations, so we couldn't check out the memory. Another good sized room, with a great view of Hyde Park and the Sydney Tower. Unfortunately, the weather was not as good, with cold winds and heavy showers. We dropped plans to see some sights and instead went for pizza before watching The Dark Knight.
Woke the next morning to clear blue skies. Had breakfast in a cafe just off Hyde Park before heading down to Paddy's Market to pick up some more bargains! From there, we walked past the Chinese Gardens to Darling Harbour and took a ferry from the Aquarium to Circular Quay, passing under the Harbour Bridge along the way. Walked out of the ferry terminal having had a free trip. We then walked around the Opera House and took yet more pictures of the sights before stopping for a well earned beer at the Opera Bar while watching all the jet boats, ferries and water taxis navigating Circular Quay without incident.
Then headed up into the Rocks area for a seafood lunch and then walked past our old haunt the Old Sydney Park Royal (now a Holiday Inn) before checking out the Rocks Market. We came across the same stall that we had bought some Koala pottery from over 8 years ago. Unfortunately our full bags meant no additions to our collection. We stopped for a coffee, cake and internet access at a Gloria Jean's (Australian for Starbucks) before heading back to our Hotel.
