Finally left Columbia for a last visit to Annapolis before leaving Maryland. After checking in to the Hotel we enjoyed chips and curry sauce and a pint of Smithwicks at an Irish pub. Just like home!
Watched the start of the July 4th parade outside the hotel (lots of dogs and firetrucks) while snacking at an Italian restaurant (their Cosmo's were particularly potent).
Being the 4th July, we were looking forward to the fireworks over Annapolis harbour. Unfortunately the weather continued the UK theme and it poured down for most of the evening. We arrived back at the hotel dripping wet. However, although we had dismissed the fireworks as a lost cause, they still went ahead as scheduled. Can't believe there was too much of an audience.
Today we visited the Naval Academy and got to see the plebes marching in to lunch and heard all about the "joys" of their first year at the academy. Plan for a quiet evening before the early start tomorrow.
