This particular person was counting the coins he earned from someone on the road. They make very little money and live on bare minimum till their death. Most of them don’t make 2$ a day and live in extreme poverty without proper food and shelter. This picture reminds me that Poverty can hit you anytime and change a fulfilling life to mere existence.

The problems of extreme poverty are the same regardless of age and gender. These blind singers are an example for how crippling poverty can be. Any kind of help from the government or other agencies never reach them and they survive life by singing at local celebrations without an identity in life. They move between places in the country searching for festivals to perform their art and make a living. Their life is a matter of curiosity for others yet they are denied even the basic human rights.

This image portrays an old woman making a meal on the road. She doesn’t have a home or someone else to take care of her. Thousands of people living in the streets of India like her share the same living standards and often develop chronic illness. Basic treatments and medication are generally out of their reach and never in time.
