Fabulous city! During ancient times, I can imagine it was a bitch for the invading armies to try and conquer. If I look really close, I can see the Roman garrison marching up the causeway...

I love your pictures! This is particularly stunning. Makes me think of the monasteries in Greece where they used pulleys to hoist things up and down.
