These are Turkish dancers in the middle of their performance of a traditional dance. Currently a lot of Bulgarians tend to take our conflicts with Turkey from the past and transfer them into the present. I was glad to see so many Bulgarians enjoy the acquaintance with Turkish culture.

The same woman who danced a gypsy dance, here, is part of a traditional Bulgarian dance. One can see that she embraces both her gypsy roots and Bulgarian traditions, and unity between cultures overcoming differences from the past or present is what I aim to show through these photographs.

These are Bulgarian children performing an authentic Bulgarian dance. A lot of young Bulgarians think of folklore dancing as old-fashioned and are not interested in their own culture, so it is promising that such young people show interest in Bulgarian dances and are ready to share that passion with the world.
