My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Kenya | Friday, January 4, 2013 | 5 photos
I am an individual who prides himself on all things international, which is why I will be studying international development as a career for the next 5 years. I started really getting into photography when I went to Kenya and realized that capturing the experience so everyone who wasn't with me would be able to enjoy the experience with me was one of the most important things that I would be able to do. The experience was like nothing I had ever done before, and I came back with a new sense of willingness to help using photography. I started an organization called photografree that provides free photography services to those who are either a not-for-profit organization or doing an event for a charitable cause. The reason I would use this scholarship is because I need as much mentoring as I can get in the art of photography and in capturing a story within a picture. Telling peoples stories and what they are working towards and trying to help out is a passion that I will never lose, but I don't have the time or the money to pursue it because of my schooling for international development. I would love the chance to go to Oman and capture the stories of the people there!!
