I've just recently been shown the gateway to travel writing and photography on my trip to Kenya/Tanzania sponsored by Kenya Airways. It literally fell on my lap, as I am a fashion photographer by trade but they found my commercial work online and absolutely loved it and made sure I would agree to go on the trip.
I literally and figuratively stepped out of my comfort zone from being a fashion photographer in Bangkok into the wild in Africa. It was an exhilarating experience to be among the locals and animals that roam around freely there. My eyes have been opened and I crave traveling and capturing stories.
The most rewarding part of travel photography is meeting the people along the way and interacting with them to learn their stories. Everyone has something to tell, even when they aren't speaking, as lines on faces, scars on bodies and dirt in their hands can speak volumes.
I look forward to being able to visit Oman with the aid of a world-reknown wildlife photographer to show me the tricks of the trade. I'm still learning but very hungry to get to the top.
