My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Vanuatu | Monday, December 10, 2012 | 5 photos

Well it's been my life long dream to be a photo journalist especially for national geographic as I am very passionate about different cultures, Nature, and capturing the experience to tell the story behind it ... I have been working as a chef for over 16 years witch gave me the chance to travel to some remote parts of the world but have recently oundergone surgery on my lower back witch my doctor has told me my career as a chef is no longer an option for me so I have purchased a new camera after all my
camera gear had been stolen and trying to start my own career as a photo journalist and doing the odd wedding hear and there to support my young family and to pay my mortgage so this opportunity would give me the tools and life changing experience to develop my skills as a photographer and to visit people and places I could only dream about doing.
I lived and worked voluntary on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu for 12 months liveing with different tribes and was lucky enough to expierense the Tokka festival where all tribes from the island come together as one to dance and exchange gifts such as pigs and Kava to show respect to each other.
This will change my life for ever! :-)
