Although Nepal is predominantly a Hindu nation, Buddhism finds its roots here. Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha is located in Nepal and the numerous stupas make it a pilgrimage destination for Buddhist monks world over.

Thamel street is the most vibrant street in Kathmandu with numerous narrow by lanes dotted with shops selling beautiful handcrafted souvenirs. The streets are often bustling with foreign tourists since it forms the center of Kathmandu’s tourist industry. Cycle rickshaws are a very popular mode of transport for tourists in Thamel.

The bond between a mother and a child is a universal bond surpassing the boundaries of countries. The routine of preparing your child for school in the morning reminded me of my childhood in India.
