My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Nepal | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

I began photography as a hobby to document the places I visited and the cultures in which I lived. Little did I know that photography would become a lifelong partner on my journey. With the pursuit to capture moments of beauty in all things, this new hobby grew on me and with me. It has become a source of happiness, a source of curiosity. It has become my passion.
I sharpened my skills through trial and error as well as through working with professionals in the pursuit of pixel perfection. My love for travel combined with my love of photography, opening up many new possibilities. With the camera in my hand, I soon began to live life differently. When I take a photo I not only freeze the moment, but I try to convey emotion, mood, narrative, all of which are part of the story. Through my pictures, I may inspire others with the tales of this unseen world. This scholarship would provide a unique opportunity to teach me how to use photography as a powerful tool to unite people and to celebrate cultural differences.
Working with Jason would be a singular learning opportunity that offers a chance in a lifetime to become a professional photographer while learning from such a visionary.
