“I have been dreaming to bring electricity to this village for 14 years now and finally it is coming true…” says one of the villagers with tears in his eyes.

The electricity generated from hydropower will replace kerosene lamps, reduce dependence on firewood, prevent its hazardous risks and save the environment. It can be used for lighting, heating water, and cooking. Electricity brings hope for their future and it is a breakthrough in their lives.

Providing electricity to the village will enable children to study at home and at night, thus improving the quality of primary education, which is essential for community development. Micro hydropower projects like this hope to inspire other villages and encourage rural development in Nepal.
