Alongside skyscrapers and other symbols of modernity are the small alleyways lined with old buildings and quaint establishments, creating an interesting and nearly seamless mix of old and new.

Singapore may have all the comforts and opulence found in cosmopolitan countries, but that doesn't mean it has lost its cultural charm. In fact, the Little Red Dot is brimming with quirks and characteristics that make it one of the most interesting destinations in Asia.

A Singaporean friend once told me that aside from shopping, eating is a favorite pastime among locals. The Chinatown Food Street is a popular destination among local and foreign foodies, frequented for the country's popular dishes such as Hainanese Chicken Rice and Laksa (Curry Laksa).
