Your Backyard - Lets go have a look...

When working in the 'most bio-intense place on the planet,' there was a chance to channel the childlike-excitement that comes from discovery & exploring your own backyard. It meant leaving the research station at night and walking down a road until a wave of sound crashed out, begging to be explored. The film ‘Lets Go Have a Look’ is the result. As a presenter, my film ‘Jungle Nights’ was a finalist in the 2013 Rocky Short Film Festival. In 2009, I organised logistics & carried out the science, some of which is captured in the documentary ‘Worm Hunters’. I want to be an inspirational wildlife-travel presenter. I wanted to inspire an affinity for the natural world that comes from knowing more about the animals that inhabit it. I believe that through understanding & exposure to environments and wildlife, a sense of wonder at the natural environment & a desire to protect can begin. This scholarship would give me the inspiration & skills to take my presenting to the next level. I want to learn how to make the most out of a scene & how to weave a story into the fabric of my film. This opportunity would justify my belief in myself that I can and should be doing this. Thank-you.
