Being on a remote, secluded part away from the civilization of the city encourages young people to explore their physicality and to enjoy different bodily sensations. There's no one to tell not to mess and keep clean.

Steep river banks are made of limestone - the porous material gets constantly washed out by the currents of river and precipitation, thus it's next to impossible to return to the same place near the river twice. Still, it's the easiest way to climb down to the river..

These places along the line of riverbank usually are under the water, both because of the seasonal tide as well as because of the hydro-power station built in 1960s for generating power for electric railway system. So, youngsters are seizing the moment when it's possible to climb down and enjoy a relaxing moment right at the waters.
