This a young Dambana boy, we had just finished bathing in a lake close to his hut. It is the only way they shower, often groups of men will go to the lake and bathe in it. When I asked about crocodiles, they laughed and told me only on the other side.

After spending the morning drinking tea with handfuls of sugar outside of their communal hut, these men and I ventured down a path through the jungle to a dry riverbed. As I set up my equipment and began to plan a shot, I turned around and found these men waiting patiently for me. Naturally posed, stoic and relaxed.

This is an Eastern Vedda family. I spent most of my time exploring the area with the father, and the son never left his side. It was incredible to see the way the boy was allowed to roam around on his own, but quickly ran into his mother's arms.
