Women in the high plateau of Tibet

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Tibet5 – Small but strong. Like those giant “darchen” (flag poles),Tibetan women have always occupied strong positions and played important roles in tradition and in society. Although petite and more quiet than their male counterparts, several of Tibet’s famous Buddhist practitioners are women and most of the road workers across the plateau are female.
