My Scholarship entry - While the time goes by

Italy | Thursday, November 13, 2014 | 5 photos

I’m a modern-day nomad, an emigrant. Since 2005 I’ve been living in the UK, at different times, for a total of 5 years. During the last 9 years I’ve also lived for short periods of time in Spain and travelled to various European countries and the Amazonian Brazil.
Keep going back and forth to Italy, my home country. The place where I grew up, living in 4 different cities: La Spezia, Parma, Roma and Firenze. The place where I also have all my family and best friends. But as well the place which I feel to be the most complex, enigmatic and incomprehensible to me.
Crossing borders made me long for a new sense of completeness that I can only perceive when sharing emotions and memories with my kin: hungry travelers, colorful souls, gentle listeners.
For this reason, I teach modern languages and I’ve learnt English and Spanish. For this reason I keep running around. Dreaming to become a really good photographer.
Eyes wide open, a camera hold tight in my hand. On the verge of freezing a moment in time or, after a hot day spent in the field, just about to have a chilled glass of white wine with that old man who smiled back at me after taking his portrait.
