My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have always loved photography and I have a deep passion for travel, combining the two can create some magical results! The culture you experience from countries is astonishing and it can sometimes be a hard task to capture the unique beauty of it. I grew up in the Mallee, a remote rural area of Victoria where photography is not a common career, I was left to my own devices to learn the tricks of the camera. As I have experimented and played with cameras over the years my knowledge has grown immensely, however there is still so much out there I want to experience. In year 12 I was short listed for VCE Top-Designs for my ‘Mallee’ photography series, which made me realise I had potential to create pictures worthy of public display. What I’m wanting to gain from this opportunity is the ability to capture something through a lens as beautiful as it looks in real life. Capturing beautiful landscapes in a unique way is something I always strive for and the opportunity to have a professional mentoring me whilst doing something I am already passionate about will only help me grow more confident and produce something I can have the world see and be inspired by.
