We are now in Lijiang, a small ancient Naxi town in the north teeming with tourists. Naomi is recovering from her first case of food poisoning. She thinks it might have been the tasty yak we ate upon arrival, I doubt it--nothing that good could be bad for you. So we've been taking it easy, strolling through black dragon pond park, admiring the frosty peaks around us. Watched a Naxi orchestra play and saw some traditional dancing. The bright dongba (Naxi religion) temples and folkart are incredible and we're having a hard time resisting the souvenirs. Must keep our load light. Moving further north in a couple of days to Zhongdian at the foothills of the himalayas. Hope to stay there a bit longer, riding horses and bathing in the hotsprings. For those of you expecting our scenic photographs, we have come across some internet problems, mainly slower than stone-age computers. Hopefully we'll be able to sort it out soon. In the meantime, no yak for N.
