Hanging out at the hut, Overland Track, Tasmania

It was a last minute decision, and well worth it: through sleet and sunshine, mountains and rainforests, snoring hut mates and the largest possums alive, I've just spent 6 days hiking the Overland Track in Tasmania.

I have never been to Tassie before, and seemed like the perfect chance to get into the wilderness and go hiking. So just a week before my new found hiking buddies left the cosiness of Sydney, I was fishing out my camping gear, swatting up on dehydrated meals that seemed edible, investing in a brand spanking new backpack and after some hectic last minute packing, I was off to Launcestion, and the start of a 6 day adventure in Tasmania:

1 new backpack
5kg of clothing
6 days of food (4.5kg)
5 nights sleeping in the huts / 1 blissful night in the tent
new friends, good times
hiking in Tassie rocks - I will be back
